This professional French-language workshop proposes a reflection on sustainable tourism through green architecture projects applied to the tourism sector, but also by analyzing the eco-responsible initiatives of the city of Málaga in its tourism management. It also explores the possibilities for sustainable rural tourism in the province, and is therefore aimed at all tourism professionals, urban planners and regional planning decision-makers.

Introduction to the concept of sustainable tourism (definition, objectives, specific lexicon) and green architecture projects in Málaga’s hotel sector (example of the plant walls at the Mariposa Hotel in Málaga) carried out by Bionotomy.

Session 2

Málaga’s eco-responsible tourism policy (waste management, mobility in the city, sustainable initiatives in the tourism sector, sustainable management of cultural events, etc.). Round-table discussion on the feasibility of these practices/debate on mass tourism and gentrification.

Presentations of green tourist accommodation projects in the province of Málaga. Debate on the global issues of sustainable tourism: benefits, limitations and challenges.
